Create a Blackboard Collaborate Webinar Room – Updated for 2017

Slippery Rock University provides all faculty with access to Blackboard Collaborate, a live classroom/webinar platform that allows for real-time online meetings. During meetings, faculty can present PowerPoint presentations and other documents, draw on a virtual whiteboard, and use voice, video, and text chat with their students.

As of Fall 2017, faculty will no longer find the link to create Collaborate meeting rooms under the “Online Rooms” tool. This is because SRU has upgraded to the newest “Ultra” version of the product. The upside to this is that it no longer requires students to download Java or other cumbersome “launcher” programs.

To request a Blackboard Collaborate webinar room for your course, email edtech@sru.edu. You will be sent a web link to add to your course; this link can be used over and over again.
