Reset a Test/Quiz Attempt

leave a comment »

D2L does not have the “Force Completion” setting. If a student accidentally clicks out of a quiz, or if their computer crashes or Internet connection fails, Desire2Learn will let them re-enter and finish. Keep in mind that while the student is out of the quiz, the clock is still ticking, and will count against the time limit set for the test.

Now and then, however, there are situations where you may want to remove a student’s attempt and give them another try on a test or quiz. Here’s how to do it:

1) Click on Quizzes in your course navbar.

2) Locate the quiz that you would like to reset. Click on the drop-down button next to it, then choose Grade

2) Scroll down to the list of students and locate the student you would like to reset. Check the box to the left of their Attempt 1, then click the trashcan icon at the top of the list.

3) The student may now take another attempt at the quiz.

Note: If the student does not appear in the list, switch the Restrict to box from “Users who have completed an attempt” to “All Users” and press Search.
